Maxine Jones
Maxine is a mixed media artist who was born in Crosby, Liverpool. At the age of eleven her parents emigrated to Zimbabwe where she completed her schooling and in 1982 moved to Johannesburg in South Africa where she stayed until 2006. In November 2006 she moved with her partner to spend a short period in Budapest, Hungary & then moved onto live in Zug, Switzerland. In 2009 she moved back to the UK & now lives & works on the beautiful Island of Mersea.
Maxine is a self-taught artist who has, over the years, “dabbled” in many different artistic disciplines – some more successfully than others! She is a “maker” who is intrigued by different mediums and how they can be used and adapted to create work that is often 3 dimensional. Maxine has a passion for many different disciplines, but her main love is glass. Maxine’s work is an eclectic mix of the combined techniques she uses, and she is always enthusiastic to chat and discuss her processes.
Maxine is a professional picture framer who offers a bespoke framing service from her studio based in West Mersea. She is a member of The Island Artists.
