 mixed media – glass – 3D assemblage

Maxine Jones, a mixed media artist, was born in Crosby, Liverpool. At the age of eleven her parents emigrated to Zimbabwe where she completed her schooling.  In 1982 moved to Johannesburg in South Africa where she stayed until 2006. She moved with her partner to spend a short period in Budapest, Hungary & then moved on to live in Zug, Switzerland. In 2009 she moved back to the UK & now lives & works on the beautiful Island of Mersea.

Maxine is a “maker” who is intrigued by different mediums and how they can be used and adapted to create work that is often 3 dimensional. She has a passion for many different disciplines which include paper (journal making & keeping & bookbinding), glass (fusing & slumping), resin (jewellery & object making), digital art, & 3D assemblage. In her studio you will find an eclectic mix of work and she is always enthusiastic to chat and discuss her processes.
